Tire Service Technician

Description:
As an OTR service technician, you will be responsible for all aspects of tire-related service for OTR equipment for customers that include but are not limited to (Mining, Construction, Earth moving, Farm, etc.). You must possess and maintain a Class A commercial driver’s license, CDL A, and MSHA certification (can help obtain this). Tire service knowledge is a plus.

Work Days: Tues-Fri 6-4pm

Responsibilities:

Maintain a clean driving record and be able to pass all random drug and alcohol tests.
Report daily assessments of the weekly work schedule to office staff and supervisor so that a future timeline can be created.
Report to office staff of location and whereabouts of your service call.
Complete daily service reports for office staff and customer invoicing.
Communicate with customers to plan for a certain service when arriving on-site, when it will start, and when it is finished and any needs when they can help.
Do scrap tire analysis to fulfill formats for each tire's detail.
Inspect and clean all OTR rim and wheel assemblies to determine serviceability.
Report to customer logical reasons for tires taken out of service.
Unload all freight deliveries with forklift or tire hand.
Take inventory of all parts and supplies used in service calls and report on paperwork.
When inventory parts are low, check with the office staff to make sure they are in order.
Maintain all safety requirements that are site-specific, including MSHA.
Attend and participate in staff meetings when required.
Always coordinate work with partners to develop a safe and efficient work plan for a task.
Ensure that service truck and trailers, all tools and equipment are in good operating condition.
Perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections at the beginning and end of each workday and immediately report operating problems or mechanical defects to the supervisor or general manager and repair anything needed as soon as possible or have it scheduled for repair.
Check all fluids in the truck and air compressor during pre-trip inspection.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness (inside and out).
Maintain monthly service reports for all equipment in the fleet.
Perform all jobs always using proper and safe procedures.
Use proper PPE according to MSHA regulations and policies.
Maintain standards of cleanliness.
Maintenance of buildings and equipment.
Maintain supply and inventory of necessary parts and supplies.
Operate forklift as required with proper certification.
You will be exposed to extreme outdoor environments.
Report all safety violations and accidents to the supervisor and or general manager, within the company’s activities and premises, even if you are involved or not, filling out every format established for that purpose, as complete as can be and with understandable and respectful language.
The personal appearance (pants pulled up and shirts tucked in) as well as the use of designated company assets should be of the highest standards.
Maintenance of the grounds around the shop and tire yard to include mowing the lawn, weed whipping, trash pickup, and organization of tires and rim parts.
Always conduct yourself, refer to other people, and speak in a respectful manner to, for, and with company personnel, as well as customers and suppliers at all times.
