Koochiching County Watercraft Inspector

Pay Rate:
Full Time
We are seeking Part-Time or Full-Time Seasonal Watercraft Inspectors to work on Public Water Access sites in Koochiching County. The Watercraft Inspector serves to INFORM and EDUCATE the public to the threats of harmful aquatic invasive species to our area lakes. Inspectors work at public water access sites educating the public by providing information to watercraft users and conducting a brief survey while inspecting watercraft for invasive species. All inspectors hired must receive Level 1 and Level 2 DNR training. Level 1 training provides instruction for watercraft inspectors and Level 2 Training provides instruction on how to use the decontamination unit.
Inspections will be conducted various week days, WEEKENDS and HOLIDAYS from May through Mid-September. Hours range from 24 - 40 hours per week. You must provide your own transportation to the public water access site and/or to the decontamination station. The mandatory training takes 6-8 hours (paid) for Level 1 and 4 - 6 hours (paid) for Level 2. Training will be held in April/May. Inspectors will be paid $12.00/hour.

To qualify for a Watercraft Inspector position:
Must pass a criminal background check
Must have reliable transportation
MUST be 18 years old or older
