Level 1 Watercraft Inspector- Lake of the Woods County

Spring is right around the corner, which means it is TIME TO GEAR UP FOR WATERCRAFT INSPECTION ACTIVITIES!

We are seeking Part Time Seasonal Watercraft Inspectors to work on Public Access sites in Lake of the Woods/Roseau County

The Watercraft Inspector serves to INFORM and EDUCATE the public to the threats of ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species to our area lakes. Inspectors work at public water access sites educating the public by providing information to watercraft users and conducting a brief survey while inspecting watercraft for invasive species. All inspectors hired must receive Level 1 DNR Watercraft Inspector training.

Most work is on WEEKENDS and HOLIDAYS from May through Mid-September.
The mandatory training takes 6-8 hours (paid). Training will be held in April.
Secondary training will be given to further explain Always There Staffing rules and regulations.
Additional tablet training will be available as needed.

Starting inspectors will be paid $13.00/hour.

Watercraft Inspectors will be assigned to a specific lake or group of lakes; assignments based on availability. Personal transportation to the lake access is required.

Education Required: Less than High School Diploma/GED

Required Skills:
Excellent verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
A commitment to customer service
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to work odd hours and in adverse weather conditions
Demonstrated interest in environmental work
Ability to be assertive in order to uphold the standard of training for Level 1 Inspector
MUST be available to work WEEKENDS and HOLIDAYS!

To qualify for a Watercraft Inspector position:
Must pass a criminal background check
Must have reliable transportation
MUST be 18 years old or older

Preferred Skills:
Hands on experience with tablets a PLUS!
