Process Technician – Extrusion Apprentice

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
We are currently seeking a Process Technician – Extrusion Apprentice for a manufacturing opportunity in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and an interest in manufacturing who wants to develop specialized, hands-on skills.
In this role, you will train alongside experienced operators and supervisors to learn the operation of extrusion equipment used to produce high-quality plastic sheets and rolls. You’ll gain experience with equipment startup, shutdown, changeovers, production monitoring, troubleshooting, quality standards, and manufacturing safety.
Responsibilities

Train on the startup, shutdown, and changeover of extrusion production lines

Assist with monitoring equipment and production processes

Learn basic equipment troubleshooting and help maintain efficient production

Monitor finished products to ensure quality standards are met

Follow established work instructions and quality procedures

Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members

Participate in training and learn different aspects of extrusion operations

Perform additional production duties as assigned
Requirements
-
1 year of manufacturing experience preferred

Mechanical aptitude and an interest in hands-on work

Willingness to learn and participate in on-the-job training

Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages

Ability to learn how to use measurement tools

Ability to read, understand, and communicate work-related documentation

Ability to work effectively in a team environment
