AIS WATERCRAFT INSPECTOR - Koochiching County
Job Description: Watercraft Inspectors serve to inform and educate the public to the threats of ecologically harmful AIS to Minnesota’s waters and teach boaters how to self-inspect their watercraft. Information gathered from the inspections will be entered into a tablet (provided) and uploaded at least on a weekly basis to a database.
Level 1 Inspectors: Are required to attend the DNR training session (paid time) and will be responsible for public education, watercraft inspections for AIS, onsite surveys and sample collection.
Level 2 Inspectors: Are required to attend the DNR decontamination training session (paid time) and will have the same responsibilities as a Level 1, but will also be certified to perform decontaminations using hot, high-pressure water equipment.
All inspectors will be required to attend the Enhanced Training session (paid time).
Dates, times and places for the training sessions will be announced at a later date.
Starting pay rate: $13.00/hour (The days and hours worked each week may vary.)
Mileage will be paid when assigned to work at the public assess site on Lake Kabetogama and Ash River Visitor’s Center.

To qualify for a Watercraft Inspector position:
At least 18 years of age.
Able to operate tablet device.
Must be available to work weekdays, WEEKENDS and HOLIDAYS!
Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
Driver's License: Class D Required
