As a Paint Technician, you will be responsible for the precise painting of products according to customer specifications. Your role will include changing paint filters, monitoring and managing paint supplies, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of the painting process. Additionally, you will play a crucial part in maintaining inventory, preparing parts for painting, and adhering to safety guidelines.
Essential Job Functions:
Follow customer specifications for paint colors.
Change paint filters as needed.
Keep track of paint supplies and communicate ordering needs to the Supervisor, Quality Control, and Purchasing departments.
Ensure accuracy and quality by following company procedures and specifications.
Maintain an accurate timekeeping record.
Report problems to the foreman.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Prepare parts for painting.
Follow Standard Procedures (SP) for customer products.
Clean and maintain spray gun.
Assist in other production areas if qualified.
Perform work in a safe manner, following all safety guidelines and procedures.
Domestic and international travel required, including potential weekend travel depending on the project.
Perform related work or job duties as required by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for Entry Level:
Regular and reliable attendance.
Ability to use a mil thickness gauge.
Knowledge of painting and spraying techniques.
Proficiency with hand and power tools.
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical strength sufficient to perform job duties.
Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Required to wear a respirator and PPE uniform.
Ability to pass a pre-employment written math test, physical, drug, and background test.
Minimum Qualifications for Application:
High School Diploma or GED with 1 year of related work experience.
Must pass a pre-employment math test.
Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
Education: High School Diploma or GED or better.
