Entry-Level Lumber Mill Worker – Cass Lake 56633

We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Entry-Level Lumber Mill Worker to join our production team. This position supports daily lumber mill operations, lumber production, material handling, inventory movement, and equipment operation.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, willing to learn, and comfortable performing physical work in a fast-paced wood production and lumber mill environment. Previous mill or wood production experience is preferred but not required.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $18.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general lumber mill responsibilities, including stacking lumber, moving materials, and organizing inventory.
• Operate basic machinery, production equipment, and tools according to company procedures.
• Safely operate a forklift to move lumber, materials, and inventory when qualified.
• Stack and organize dimensional lumber in designated areas.
• Move inventory throughout the mill and production areas.
• Verify inventory counts and report any discrepancies.
• Assist with lumber production and material handling activities.
• Maintain safe operations by following all safety procedures, company policies, and applicable regulations.
• Perform basic equipment inspections, maintenance, and cleaning.
• Make sure all electrical panels are properly shut off before working on equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work effectively with supervisors and other members of the production team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Previous experience in a lumber mill, sawmill, wood production, manufacturing, or industrial work environment is preferred.
• Previous forklift operation experience is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate basic machinery and equipment.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and production procedures.
• Good attention to detail, particularly when handling inventory and verifying counts.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active lumber mill production job. The employee may be required to climb, push, pull, kneel, bend, stand, walk, and lift heavy materials throughout the workday.

Candidates must be able to safely lift and handle dimensional lumber weighing up to 50 pounds. The ability to work around production equipment and perform repetitive material-handling tasks is required.

Preferred Experience

Lumber mill experience, sawmill experience, wood production experience, manufacturing experience, warehouse experience, forklift experience, and material handling experience are preferred.
